New Ambassadors present Credentials
Their Excellencies the Ambassadors of the Republic of Albania, the Republic of the Fiji Islands and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia presented their Letters of Credence to the President at Áras an Uachtaráin today.
His Excellency, Mr. Kastriot Robo, Ambassador of the Republic of Albania, was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Teuta Robo, and by Mr. Arben Murra, First Secretary, Embassy of the Republic of Albania.
His Excellency, Mr. Emitai L. Boladuadua, Ambassador of the Republic of the Fiji Islands, was accompanied by his wife Mrs. Dr. Asinate Boladuadua and by his daughter Miss Dr. Sainimere Boladuadua.
His Excellency, Mr. Gjorgji Spasov, Ambassador of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, was accompanied by his wife Mrs. Slavica Nikolovska-Spasova and by Mrs. Hurem Gura, Minister Counsellor, Embassy of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.
The following also attended the ceremony: Mr. Dick Roche, T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Minister of State at the Department of the Taoiseach; Mr. Brian McCarthy, Secretary General to the President; Mr. David Donoghue, Assistant Secretary, Department of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Joe Brennan, Deputy Chief of Protocol; Mr. Gerry Kelly, Assistant Chief of Protocol; Ms. Claire Reeves, Protocol Officer at the Department of Foreign Affairs.
The Ambassadors were escorted to and from Áras an Uachtaráin by an Escort of Honour consisting of a motorcycle detachment drawn from the 2nd Cavalry Squadron, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin under the command of Lieutenant Laura Keane.
The Guard of Honour at Áras an Uachtaráin was provided by the 28th Infantry Battalion, Finner Camp, Donegal, under the command of Lieutenant Colin Fherdin.
The Band of the Defence Forces School of Music was conducted by Commandant Mark Armstrong.
