Using Motorbikes & Scooters Abroad

Accidents involving motorbikes, scooters and quadbikes are common every year and frequently result in severe injury and fatality.  Irish citizens who rent such vehicles abroad are advised to take the same precautions as they would at home.  These include wearing a helmet, obeying speed limits and not driving under the influence of alcohol. Failure to wear a crash helmet, or to have the necessary driving licence may invalidate your insurance if you are involved in an accident. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is also likely to invalidate insurance coverage.
