New Ambassadors Present Credentials

Their Excellencies the Ambassadors of the Republic of Hungary, the Republic of Korea and France presented their Letters of Credence to the President at Áras an Uachtaráin to-day.

His Excellency Mr. Ferenc Jári, Ambassador of the Republic of Hungary, was accompanied by his wife Mrs. Melinda Jári and children Mr. Ferenc Jári and Ms. Flora Jári and Mr. Robert Csillik, Counsellor, Embassy of the Republic of Hungary.

His Excellency Mr. Taeyong Cho, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, was accompanied by Mr. Jae Chel Cho, Counsellor, Embassy of the Republic of Korea.

His Excellency Mr. Yvon Roé d’Albert, Ambassador of France, was accompanied by his wife Mrs. Marie-Claude Roé d’Albert and Mr. Louis de Corail, Counsellor, Embassy of France.

The following were also present at the ceremony: Mr. Trevor Sargent T.D.,

Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food; Mr. Tim O’Connor, Secretary General to the President; Mr. Dermot Gallagher, Secretary General, Department of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Joe Brennan, Deputy Chief of Protocol at the Department of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Thomas Bolster, Deputy Chief of Protocol at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Mr. James McIntyre, Assistant Chief of Protocol at the Department of Foreign Affairs.

The Ambassadors were escorted to and from Áras an Uachtaráin by an Escort of Honour consisting of a motorcycle detachment drawn from the 2nd Cavalry Squadron, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin, under the command of 2nd Lieutenant James Sharkey.

The Guard of Honour at Áras an Uachtaráin was provided by 5th Infantry Battalion, McKee Barracks, Dublin, under the command of Lieutenant John Moody.

The Army No. 1 Band was conducted by Lieutenant Fergal Carroll.
